We providing your project with full technical support for Excess Soils Management in accordance with Ontario Regulation (O.Reg.) 406/19.
We assess the past use of properties to identify potential contaminating activities and areas of environmental concern within and adjacent to project areas. These assessments focus on factors that could impact excess soil generated during excavation and construction activities on your site. Based on our findings, we determine the contaminants of potential concern to inform the development of a subsequent Sampling and Analysis Plan.
Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) are developed to guide appropriate testing methods and determine the concentrations of contaminants of potential concern in excavated soil for assessment and management.
We assess sites and soils to determine the applicable generic or site-specific excess soils quality standards to use. This includes preparation of site plan amendments authorizing or changing excess soil management conditions.
We determine which soil may be reused within the project area, with or without processing, and which excess soils may be deposited at a Class 1 Soil Management Site, landfill, or dump, as well as the potential reuse sites where soil from the project area may be transferred for final placement.
Site-specific storage and fill management plans will be developed to ensure compliance with O. Reg. 406/19. These plans include criteria for excess soil source site approval, procedures for receiving, rejecting, and tracking soil loads, rules for on-site soil storage, quality assurance and control measures, and final placement requirements.
Qualified Person (QP) reviews of excess soil source site reports are conducted to determine whether the soil meets the quality standards applicable to your site.
We prepare notices via the Excess Soil Registry for your applicable projects.
