ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN
Greenstone Engineering Ltd. (Greenstone) is an environmental engineering and consulting firm serving private and public sector clients throughout the Northern Ontario Region. We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our highly motivated team of specialized professionals. The ideal candidate will have a positive and solutions-oriented attitude, is highly organized and responsive, diplomatic, direct in communications, and will enjoy an energetic and collaborative work setting.
The primary responsibility of the role will be the coordination and completion of field work related to soil and groundwater sampling to support Environmental Site Assessments, Groundwater Monitoring Programs and Excess Soil project work. Additional duties will involve the preparation and completion of environmental reports and supporting documents such as summary tables, borehole logs and figures.
DUTIES
· Demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Greenstone.
· Complete soil and groundwater sampling programs in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and appliable guidance documents.
· Supervise drilling and test pitting programs and the installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
· Collect, interpret, and manage environmental field data and laboratory results.
· Become a key member of Greenstone’s Emergency Spill Response Team.
· Prepare technical reports and supporting documents.
· Complete field work in all seasons, including inclement weather.
· Travel to remote locations for extended durations.
· Occasionally work overtime and weekends to meet project requirements.
SKILLS
· Basic understanding of Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 347, and Ontario Regulation 406/19.
· Self-directed and a strong attention to detail.
· Works in a team environment without direct supervision.
· Skilled writer and communicator.
· Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office and 365 Suite and Adobe.
· Management of subcontractors, with a strong focus on health and safety management.
· Ability to promote team effort and collaboration.
· Capable of travel and remote work.
· Valid G driver's license in Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a college level diploma in Civil Technology or related discipline from an CTAB accredited program.
· 0-3 years of related experience.
· Currently working toward a professional designation (P. Eng. for Engineer applications, P.Geo for Geoscientist applicant and C.E.T for Technologist applicants) is not required but would be considered an asset.

JUNIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a Junior Environmental Engineer to join our highly motivated team of specialized professionals. The ideal candidate will have a positive and solutions-oriented attitude, is highly organized and responsive, diplomatic, direct in communications, and will enjoy an energetic and collaborative work setting.
A key duty will include the completion of field and design work related to Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater remediation work, landfill design and groundwater attenuation monitoring, excess soil management, and environmental spill response.
DUTIES

· Design, coordinate and implement all aspects of environmental assessments and hydrogeological investigations which will include drilling and test pitting programs and the installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
· Collect, interpret, and manage environmental field data and laboratory results.
· Become a key member of Greenstone’s Emergency Spill Response Team.
· Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively; provide timely and concise feedback to supervisors.
· Prepare technical reports documenting procedures, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
· Complete field work in all seasons, including inclement weather.
· Supervision of subcontractors.
· Travel to remote locations for extended durations.
· Occasional work overtime and weekends to meet project requirements.
